In Memory - George Savella

As many of you may already know via facebook, Francesca's father passed away over the weekend. Francesca has been active with Kaleidoscope for a number of years and recently played Mother Hubbard in "Mother Goose" and Disgustia in "Cinderella." In order to raise the wonderful Francesca, we know he must have been an amazing man. Our thoughts are with her at this time and Kscope will be showing support by attending the wake tomorrow around 5pm.

SAVELLA, GEORGE H., 51, of Bakewell Ct., Cranston, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Barbara M. (Caputo) Savella. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late George A. and Helen C. (Szylin) Savella. George was a science teacher at North Kingstown High School for the past 10 years and was also the former owner of George's Lawncare, Inc. He graduated from Cranston High School West; received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Roger Williams University in 1981; and graduated from Providence College Teaching Certification Program in 2000. He was a member of the Alpine Country Club, the N.E.A., past coach of Cranston Western Little League and past den leader in Pack 12 Cub Scouts, Cranston. An avid sports enthusiast, George was a fan of Notre Dame Football, PC Friars, Boston Red Sox and N.E. Patriots. Besides his wife, he was the loving and devoted father of Francesca M. Savella and Thomas G. Savella; dear brother of Donna M. Carpenter and her husband Jeffrey of North Kingstown; dear son-in-law of Thomas and Concetta Caputo of Cranston, dear brother-in-law of Dr. Edward and Dr. Judith Caputo of Cranston; and loving uncle of Edward Caputo, Jr. and Brianna Caputo. Merry Christmas!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you all! Have a safe and happy weekend and we hope to see you all in 2011!

** Upcoming events:

* Several people missed the recent hoodie order, so we will be placing another one after Christmas. If you're interested, please email Nicki by December 29th with your name and size info. We're also getting some polos ($20) with the logo on them, let us know if you want one of those!

* Friday, January 14th is the new date for the Improv show! Kaleidoscope will be going to support Ryan at the Speed of Thought Playhouse Cafe (39 North Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760).

As far as details go, The Speed of Thought Players present improv comedy in the style of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?", creating fast, funny scenes based on the audience's suggestions. We plan to arrive around 8:30pm for the show starts at 9:00 and goes to about 11:00pm. Kaleidoscope is getting a group rate of $5 per person as opposed to $10. Just say you are with Kaleidoscope and you will be all set. For those who want to stay after the show, there is karaoke. Food and drink are also available, including alcohol for those 21+ with valid ID. The show might (and probably will) contain adult themes, so this event is for 18 and older. Let us know if you plan to come so we can give them a heads up of how many we will be!!
